About St. Julitta Coptic Orthodox Church - Pearland
The Coptic Orthodox community in Pearland, Texas was officially established on August 11, 2018 by His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef.
On May 26, 2021, the community was able to purchase a 5 acre property in the heart of Pearland to call home and on June 2, 2021 was blessed to have His Grace Bishop Gregory pray the inaugural Thanksgiving prayer on the future church site.
St. Julitta Coptic Orthodox Church belongs to the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States which is shepherded by His Eminence Metropolitan Youssef and includes all of the Coptic Orthodox churches in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
The Copts (Coptic Orthodox Christians) adhere to the Orthodox faith that was established in Alexandria, Egypt by St. Mark the Evangelist around the year 43 A.D. The Orthodox faith is summarized by the Nicene Creed which was authored by St. Athanasius who defended Jesus Christ’s divinity at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.
